Barbados Oistins Fish Fry

If you are looking for cheap, amazing Caribbean seafood the Barbados Oistins Fish Fry is the place to be.

The Oistins Fish Fry is a collection of local vendors serving fresh seafood from outdoor shacks in the small south coast village of Oistins.

You really can’t get any more authentic than this!

The Fish Fry is open all days of the week…however the best night to head down there is Friday night.

This is when the majority of the vendors are open from 6 pm with live reggae music and plenty of local crafts on sale such as necklaces, sea shells and local artwork.

There is a large selection of vendors to choose from and they will try to convince you that their fish is better than the others.

Don’t worry they are all on the same level in my opinion so don’t feel pressured and take time to walk around and enjoy the atmosphere before choosing one.

Once you’ve got your meal, take a seat at one of the picnic benches and enjoy the pumping music and lively atmosphere down at the fish market.

As it gets closer to 10 pm a party atmosphere begins to develop with many locals showing up to enjoy the food and festivities.

So try to get there early to avoid the crowds or there might not be any food left for you!
