Blue Horizon Hotel Barbados is directly across the street from Accra Beach (or Rockley Beach).  This is the nicest and most popular beach on the island's south coast.

• Champers

The best restaurant near to Blue Horizon Hotel Barbados is called Champers.  

Champers is easily the best restaurant on the south coast of the island, located atop a small cliff at the eastern end of Accra Beach.  

If you choose to stay at Blue Horizon Hotel you will be within walking distance of this restaurant and I highly recommend that you dine there during your vacation in Barbados.  This is a very popular restaurant with both visitors and locals.  You therefore should book a reservation if you want to dine here.

To get to this restaurant you just walk south east from the Blue Horizon Hotel Barbados along the south coast road (Highway 7)....i.e. towards Worthing.  Once you reach the sharp left bend at the top of the road, turn into the lane on your right.  Champers is the bright gold building on the left.

• Just Grillin

Just Grillin is an open air grill and bar just steps away from Blue Horizon Hotel Barbados.  If you leave the hotel and walk north west towards Hastings you will reach the Quayside Centre Shopping Plaza.  

In the middle of the parking lot of this plaza you wiill find this grill serving a great variety of local fish and jerk chicken dishes and sandwiches. Another must try in my opinion.

• Bert's Bar

Bert's Bar is a sports bar located just south-east of Blue Horizon Hotel (towards Worthing), less than a 5 minute walk away.

This sports bar is the tropical home of the Ottawa Senators NHL ice hockey team.  If you are a ice hockey fan and want to catch a hockey game while grabbing a bite you can visit this bar.

• Mojo

Mojo is a small bar just past Bert's Bar. Another option for grabbing drinks and food, while enjoying some music.

The closest nightlife to Blue Horizon Hotel are the bars located in the St.Lawrence Gap entertainment district.  St. Lawrence Gap is a 15 minute walk from the hotel.

Cafe Sol is a margarita bar located at the entrance of St.Lawrence Gap. Here you can grab 2 for 1 drinks from 5 - 7 pm and 10 - 12 pm every night.

• McBride's

Just a few feet further along the Gap is McBride's Pub and Bar.
This bar offers 2 for 1 drinks every night from 11 pm til 1 with live bands and a dance floor.

The two closest attractions to the Blue Horizon Hotel are the Graeme Hall Nature Sanctuary and the Garrison Savannah.

• Graeme Hall Nature Sanctuary

The Graeme Hall Nature Sanctuary is home to Barbados' only dense mangrove swamp land, filled with native plants and wildlife.

This sanctuary is located south east of the hotel just before you reach St.Lawrence Gap.  It will take you about 15 minutes to walk here from this Barbados beach hotel.

• The Garrison Savannah

You can also visit the island's only thoroughbred horse racing track.  Horse races are run on select Saturday's and will take you less than 10 minutes to get to by taxi from Blue Horizon Hotel.

• Rockley Golf Club and Country Club

The Blue Horizon Hotel Barbados is located in Rockley, Christ Church placing it minutes away from the Rockley Golf Club. This golf course has 9 holes and is a Par 70, 5610 yard course.

Guests of the Blue Horizon Hotel Barbados are offered preferred tee off times as well as complimentary transportation to and from this golf course.

• Brandons Surf Break (Drill Hall)

If you are looking forward to surfing in Barbados, Brandons Surf Break (also known as the Drill Hall Beach) is located just south of the Garisson Savannah Horse Racing Track.  This surf break ranges from beginner to moderate size waves.

• Quayside Centre Shopping Plaza

Quayside Centre is a shopping plaza just steps from Blue Horizon.  This shopping mall has numerous beachwear and souveneir shops for you to choose from.  There is also a 99 Convenience Store at this shopping plaza where you can get most of your necessities from bread, milk, juice to toothpaste and toiletries.

 • Cave Shepherd

There is also a small shopping mall called Cave Shepherd, located along Highway 7 in Worthing.  This shopping mall is located half way between Blue Horizon Hotel Barbados and the St.Lawrence Gap Entertainment district at the traffic lights of Highway 7 and Rendezvous. Therefore you can walk to this shopping mall as well.  

Cave Shepherd offers one of the widest ranges of duty free shopping for tourists on the island. You can find anything from jewellery to beachwear to souveniers here.


Will I be near to shopping in Bridgetown?

The capital of the island is a 10 minute taxi ride away and offers you a wide variety of duty free shopping.

Where is the nearest supermarket or grocery store if I need to buy something?

If you want to purchase essential groceries such as bread and milk there is a 99 Covenience Store less than 2 minutes from Blue Horizon Hotel Barbados.  This convenience store is located in the Quayside Centre Shopping Plaza.  

If you wish to shop at a full blown supermarket there are two supermarkets within walking distance of Blue Horizon Hotel.  These supermarkets are Trimart  and Big B (SuperCentre).  

Trimart is located in Worthing at the traffic lights of Highway 7 and  Rendezvous.  To walk to this supermarket from the hotel you just head in the direction of St.Lawrence Gap.  You will pass Bert's Bar and Mojo's on your left.  You will then eventually reach the Cave Shepherd and the Shell gas station at this intersection.  Trimart is directly across the street from the Shell Gas station.

Big B Supermarket is just a few feet further.  At the traffic lights you will need to turn left on to Rendezvous, past the First Caribbean Bank and you will see Big B Supermarket on your left hand side.

How about money? Is there a bank with ATMs nearby this Barbados hotel?

If you need to withdraw money there is an ATM machine at the Quayside Centre Shopping Plaza next to Blue Horizon Hotel Barbados. If you need to go to an actual bank, the closest bank is the First Caribbean International Bank  in Rendezvous.  This bank is located next to the Big B Supermarket mentioned above within walking distance of Blue Horizon.
