Where is The Crane Beach Barbados and How Do You Get There?

This Barbados beach can be found on the south east coast of the island, situated in the parish of St. Philip.

Although this beach faces the Atlantic Ocean, the fact that it is a natural harbour surrounded by a coral reef means that it is perfectly safe for swimming.

The beach is accessed by one of two ways.

These steps are found along the cliff face of the cliff atop which the hotel resides. These are not particularly steep, so don’t worry too much.

When you start your descent down the steps and look out over this truly magnificent Barbados beach, prepare to have your breath taken right away from you. It is a truly spectacular natural beauty.

If you are visiting the beach from another accommodation then you can also access The Crane Beach Barbados via the public beach entrance. This is down a narrow road at the south end of the beach where you can park your rental car. You will then walk across a few large rocks on to the sand.

What Can You Do At The Crane Beach in Barbados?

This Barbados beach is reputed to be one of the best beach locations on the island to have a relaxing evening picnic. Also, sea turtles have been known to swim close to the outer perimeters of the beach, so you should keep your eyes open for when they pop their heads out of the water.

You can also spend your day relaxing on the loungers provided by The Crane Barbados Hotel. Do be aware that there is a small charge for these.

But this is a small fee for taking advantage of spending a day tanning at one of the world’s top 10 beaches.

As we have already seen, despite the fact that the beach is more on the Atlantic coast, it is still perfectly suitable for swimmers.

However the waves and breakers here can be a little bigger than you would find along the south and west coast beaches.

This provides body surfers and boogie boarders with the ideal opportunities to take full advantage and have some fun in these conditions. This is also great for the young kids but some of the more elderly may prefer the lagoon like water of a south or west coast beach.

For the more adventurous, there is even the chance to cliff jump into the ocean below, accessible by the rocks along the cliff face. This is not for the faint-hearted and should be done at your own risk!
