The Old Nine Barbados Golf Course on the western coast of the island has been providing hours of enjoyment for local and visiting golfers for over 40 years.

As part of the original Sandy Lane resort when it was opened in the early 1960s, it is described as an "intimate yet demanding" course.

Many golfers have also described the course as fun to play, especially as there are many of the island's native green monkeys scurrying about among the trees, making for an interesting and amusing round of Barbados golf.

Old Nine Sandy Lane Barbados Golf Course This Sandy Lane golf course is partnered by two other great courses at the hotel, namely the Country Club Barbados Golf Course and the Green Monkey Barbados Golf Course, but the Old Nine has a special air about it.

It is unique from the other Sandy Lane golf courses as it winds its way through the original Sandy Lane Barbados estate that is now home to numerous luxury villas and homes.

The Old Nine Barbados Golf Course may be considerably smaller than the other two Sandy Lane Barbados golf courses but it is certainly perfectly formed!

Covering 3,345 yards, a Par 36 course with 9 golf holes, The Old Nine has perfectly lined rows of mahogany trees and lush greens. The fairways and greens are very intimate and tight, making for a very challenging golf experience.

This is the perfect golf course for your Barbados golf vacation, where you can take your time and really enjoy playing at a slower pace; whilst taking in the stunning views as it is leads up to the limestone cliffs of the western coast of the island.

Golf Rates and Tee Times

The Old Nine Barbados Golf Course at Sandy Lane Hotel Barbados is one of two courses there that can be enjoyed by residents and visitors alike (the third course, The Green Monkey, is for members only).

The golf rates and green fees for playing on The Old Nine vary depending on whether you are an individual or playing as a group. A group is defined by Sandy Lane as a booking of 20 or more players.

Golf Rates For Hotel Guests

If you choose to stay at the Sandy Lane Hotel it will costs you $85 USD for a round of golf. For groups of guests staying at the hotel the cost is $80 USD.

Golf Rates For Non-Hotel Guests

The golf green fee for all other golfers to the course is $100 USD for individuals and $85 USD for groups.

Junior players, those that are under the age of 18, receive a 50% discount off of the stated green fees.

The tee off time for this Barbados golf course starts at 7:00 am and the last permitted tee-off is at 4:30 pm.

Soft spikes are mandatory at all of the golf courses at the Sandy Lane Hotel and rental of carts, golf shoes and golf clubs is available.

There is no mandatory stipulation for having a caddie on The Old Nine course and it is also optional to have a cart; one can be hired separately for $30 USD if required.
